Japan Town: Cherry Blossom Festival!

Spring. It's time for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival at Japan Town.
To this day, I remember my childhood days when my small southern town in Korea would be covered with cherry blossom from one corner of the town to the other. It was an annual celebration to remember, and I really miss it.

Well, at least I get a small taste of it at Japan Town.

Truthfully, cherry blossom is nice and all, but a festival isn't festive without food. So here's one of the more popular foodstand in the festival, Takoyaki stand!

It was our goal that day to try out at least one dish from each foodstand. While we certainly enjoyed the variety of food that day, it sure was painful looking at our wallets towards the end of the day...

A nice day for a picture!

Sweet Home Alabama

We stopped by a small pancake store on our way from Georgia to Alabama in the middle of the night, as we landed in Atlanta late in the evening, then we had to drive to Alabama. So we had to stop by and eat!
Golf is life, here in small town of Luverne, Alabama. After all, there is not much else to do here!

We always try to come during Christmas season because it is my dad's birthday... and this time, one of his coworker's family was with us to eat and celebrate, and their daughter who treats my parents like grandparents, is giving my dad a kiss for the birthday! Cute!
Now, here we are, preparing to leave for Florida, minivan packed full with food and fishing gears.
It was a little gloomy and overcast, but the ocean and the view from where we were staying at, was simply awesome.
Every dinner we would cook what we caught, but it turns out we couldn't catch any fish!!! At least, not until the last day. So we ended up cooking the meat we brought, as well as seafood we bought at a local seafood store, which was really good!
Fishing was relaxing, but could've been better had we caught some fish... :-)
At night, we went out to catch crabs, and while waiting for them, I took this picture. Though there wasn't enough light, I was able to place my camera on a flat surface and the picture came out relatively well!
During the daytime, when we weren't fishing, we went out to play by the sea. Although I was hoping for warmer water, it was quite cold!
So not having caught any fish, on our way home, we decided to stop by one final location, under a bridge, to give a final shot at fishing. And a miracle! I finally caught a fish! Now we can all go home happy. :-)

Random Sunset

Bay Area is a beautiful place to live in though somewhat expensive to live in...
I forget exactly when, but on our way home from somewhere, I saw the sunset and exited the highway to take some shots of Sun descending directly above the cityscape of San Francisco.

Lake Tahoe Trip

Although long over-due, better late than never! Here are some of the pictures we took on our last year (!) Thanksgiving Lake Tahoe trip. I brought my snowboard with me but unfortunately the mountains were bare. In fact it was the greenest I've ever seen!

On the second day, we went for a random drive and found a small lake/waterfall combo! We were excited!

Ex-AEPD Folks Hang-out

Looking back, I miss working and hanging out with the folks at AEPD (Accenture eBay Product Development group). I met some talented people there, young and fearless, and I daresay I have made some good friends there, and the departure from that place was one of the toughest professional decisions that I've ahd to make in recent years, though it's already been over 4 years! Wow. Time flies.
Anyways, Jo had a chance to come up and visit to hang out, catch up, and also to celebrate Carol's birthday, so we went out to hang out with him a few Fridays ago, and here are the promised (long-overdue) pictures.
